Stinger 8 World Chamipionship Clarification

In the 2008 Stinger 8 World Championship Race, the entry fee was $20 not including the pit pass.  The pit pass was an additional $30.  The total for entry and a pit pass was $50.

We have actually decreased the entry fee this year to $15.

In 2008, there was a pre-entry bonus that went only to the 1st place finisher of $200.  We did not do pre-entries this year.  The 1st place finish payout is the same, $300 as it was without the pre-entry bonus.

The Washington 500 at Evergreen Speedway made for an exciting night. With a rain delay,  lighting and hot muggy weather,  there was plenty of heated action.

To start the Night the Northwest Legends ran on the 3’8’s with a lot of side by side action the 25 lap main  came down to Jesse Branhom getting the win.

Next up the Pawn X-change super 8’s and their 100 lap main event. With only one caution early, lap after lap had action in the intersection. The Cowboy, John Carlson and Battle Wagon driver Steve Peters both had early race incidents that took them out of contention.  Shane Sawin, who led for many of the laps, had tire issues which took him out of the hunt for the win. Shane was able to hold on to  3rd  with his team mate Ricky “The Kid” Deitz taking home the hardware and the big check. Ryan Gunderson finished in the 2nd spot

The iRacing.com Northwest Late Model Tour race was next up on the grid. After 12 laps the rains came and shut down the show.  After about an hour the track surface was being dried and the decision was made to make sure that the track surface was dry all around. The Les Schwab Tire Street stock division was next up on the grid, even though the tour had run 10 laps the officials wanted to make sure everything was good with the tour cars before sending them back out.

The first laps of the Street Stock where run under caution to make sure that the race surface was ready for racing. After a short 10 minute pit stop for refuel and car check, the street stocks hit the big 5/8’s oval for the big race. A 30 lap shoot out to the end had Kelly Mann running from the back of the back doing everything he could to run down pole sitter Lane Sundholm .  The youngster, Casey Branch, ran a very good race to finish 3rd.

After the street stock race, the tour continued their race. Jason Fraser made quick work of working through traffic. Jason stepped out to a sizable lead. Pete Harding made a good charge running up to the 2nd position  but was unable to run Fraser down. Kelly Mann, who finished 2nd in the street stock race secured the 3rd position in the tour race.Gary Lewis, who took over the points lead after the conclusion of the race was unable to get to the leaders beforethe checkered flag flew.

To conclude the evening  the Speedway Chevrolet Super Stocks took to the track. Under serious time constraints and pressing towards midnight, the cars took to the track. Daniel Moore led for the early portion of the race with a big late to start. Naima Lang and Tom Moriarty followed behind. After caution flags and restarts Moore, Lang and Moriarty swapped positions. In the end it was Naima Lang with the win Daniel Moore 2nd and former champion Tom Moriarty coming in 3rd.
