The week of festivities culminates in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Awards Banquet on Friday, Dec. 9 and the NASCAR Night of Champions Touring Awards Gala on Saturday, Dec. 10.

The events will be held in the Charlotte Convention Center’s Crown Ballroom at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

  • Matt Kentfield (@MattKentfield) of Speed51.com and SPEED TV’s Bob Dillner (@BobDillner) will anchor the English broadcast. Kentfield and Dillner served as the lead announcers for Speed51 Productions’ live audio broadcasts of NASCAR touring series events in 2011.

The first order of business for the champion drivers will be to determine bragging rights on the track in the Fourth Annual NASCAR Champions/Media Karting Challenge on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at Victory Lane Indoor Karting in Charlotte. The six regional touring series champions and the Whelen All-American Series national champion will battle each other along with several media members. Past winners of the event are Brian Loftin (2008), Ryan Truex (2009) and Bobby Santos (2010).
