A Big Field Expected for 2nd Annual MG Invitational Saturday Aug 11
A great field of cars is expected for Saturday’s 2nd Annual Mark Galloway Invitational 100 presented by Genie Industries on the 3/8-mile oval. With the $3000.00 to win, some of the top drivers have expressed interest.
Naima Lang current point leader will be here as will Kelly Mann leader of the I-5 Challenge and second in points. There are a few drivers overdue for a win including Jeff Knight and Daniel Moore. Andy Sole with the new motor and the strong finish of the Summer Showdown is one that you cannot count out. Throw in the Hardings Shane and Pete both victorious this season at Evergreen and the field is as strong as ever. Garrett Archer is coming off a great finish at the Miller 200 at South Sound Speedway and Molly Helmuth with her new car (former Wes Rhoades Tour Car) makes the younger drivers stronger than ever. With Genie Industries sponsoring the night Shane Sawin will be back with a new machine and with expectations of doing well in front of his number one sponsor. Add in other top drivers and the night is not to be missed.
The other divisions racing are the Street Stocks with a fantastic point battle going on with just five races left this season. Cowgill has a 7-point lead over Ptacek and in the hunt are four other drivers within 49 points. A good tussle is underway in the Mini-Stock division with Roberts and Fritz going at it for the championship with five to go. Throw in the bump-to-pass V8 Extremes making it a fun night at the races.
A reminder that we will be doing a memorial for Denny Strimple.
$ raised via beer garden – raffle – etc. will go to the Mark Galloway Foundation for scholarships for young men and women to further their education in the field of car maintenance and or racing.
