On Saturday April 13 Evergreen Speedway will hold its annual Comcast Business Class Fan Appreciation Night at the Races. The night’s racing will feature the Emerald City Harley Davidson NASCAR Super Figure Eights/Stock Figure Eights, Buzz Inn Steakhouse NASCAR Stinger 8’s, Les Schwab Tires NASCAR Street Stocks, Foster Press NASCAR Mini-Stocks and the traveling Northwest Pro 4 Truck Series. The racing begins at 6pm with front gates opening at 4pm rain or shine, with the fans protected by the covered grandstand.

Fan Appreciation Night throughout will have drawings for FREE Apparel, FREE Tickets to upcoming events and Food and Beverage specials. Beer Garden Happy Hour Specials. Bring your friends! Groups of 20 or more get a $5.00 discount on each ticket. One lucky fan will win a VIP Package to the Summer Showdown held June 27-29 which will include Pit Passes, Food & Beverage Tickets, Pace Car Rides on Friday Night, Premium Seating in the Grandstands for 4 of your closest friends.

The Super Figure Eights are back in action after a week off from their opening night two weeks ago. The action on opening night was fast and furious throughout the main event. The night ended with a physical tussle between a couple of teams. Figure Eight racing happens in close quarters and tempers sometimes flare. Some of the best drivers of this style of racing are here at Evergreen Speedway. When these warriors take to the track with their ground pounding machines you never know what will happen especially at the ‘Worlds Most Dangerous Intersection’.

Like their big brothers the Stinger 8’s are also challenged by the famous ‘X’. These four cylinder powered race cars slice and dice their way through the maze of the figure eight track. There is not only the battle amongst the drivers to motivate through the X but also there are four women who compete regularly with the guys. Last season for the first time ever the four women all finished in the top ten in the season points standings. When the women beat the guys they don’t like it. The women are constantly turning up the wick each race vying for the wins and a championship.

Streets Stocks will be on the 3/8-mile oval for the second week in succession, with last week’s opener winner Roger Drake back to see if two in a row is in the cards to start the season. Others that will be trying to make the top spot on the podium as a regular are Jim Foti, Jason McQuinn, Steve Ptacek, Darrel Lutovsky, Joe Kneeland and Kenny Erickson. These are a few among many that are capable of being on the podium.

Jon Roberts, the defending champion of the Mini-Stock division, won last week’s opener on the 3/8 in spectacular fashion. This week is another week though and anything can happen in this highly competitive division.

The traveling Northwest Pro 4 Series opens their season this Saturday at Evergreen Speedway and will close their season at ES on September 21. Jason Majors will be back to defend his 2012 championship. This series brings a strong contingent of drivers each time they visit and the series has had many of them in winners circle over the years.
