What was known as the 60-Minutes of FEAR has been changed to the 88-Minutes of FEAR in honor of Evergreen Speedway racer Sean Peters who lost his life so young. There are over 20 cars expected for the first of two major Figure Eight events this season. The $3000 to win will bring together the best in the Northwest. Some of the top racers expected are Ricky Dietz, Don Eslick, Nick Gunderson, Lance O’Grain, Mike Steltz, Steve Cox, John Carlson, Quinton Borreson, Steve Peters, Seth Funden, Pat Clark, Chuck Widdis, Tommy Gapp and  Steve Schoenfeldt. 88-Minutes of running time will have the racers going through the center of the figure eight over 200 times.

The traveling Northwest Modifieds have not been on the west side of the Cascades in a very long time. The series normally runs at Stateline Speedway in Post Falls, ID and Spokane County Raceway in Airway Heights, WA. The majority of the racers are from Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington. 100-laps on Evergreen’s 3/8-mile oval for these open wheel cars will be fast and exhilarating.

The points battle in the Stinger 8 Division has Todd Stilwell on top with Matt Somerville in second followed by two of the division’s lady drivers Nicole Pollard and Jessica Gray respectively third and fourth. The fifth position is held by Zach Bristol. Another full field of cars is expected with 20-cars receiving points so far this season.

Always having a large 30-40 car count is the Hornet Division. Point leader Jaime Corbett holds a slim 14-point edge over Cyril Greenawalt.  Scott Hunt is third with John Hilburn fourth close behind the leaders. Many of these racers in this division also like to run as a Stinger 8 so adding to the already strong list.

The racing begins at 6pm with spectator gates opening at 4pm. Qualifying for the 88-Minutes of FEAR and 100-lap Modified Mains start at 3pm. Heat races will be from 4pm to 5pm followed by a Fan Fest.
