Foss Towing Night Saturday May 11 Featuring SLM

On Saturday May 11, at Evergreen Speedway it is Foss Towing Night at the Races. The night will feature the Speedway Chevrolet NASCAR Whelen All American Series Super Late Models on the 3/8-mile oval for 75-laps. Plus the Les Schwab Tires NASCAR Street Stocks, Emerald City Harley-Davidson Super/Stock Figure Eights, Foster Press NASCAR Mini-Stocks and Buzz Inn Steakhouse Stinger 8’s. Racing begins at 6pm and spectator Gates open at 4pm. Dry weather is forecasted for the second race of the season for the Super Late Model 75.

Super Late Model 2012 champion Naima Lang will be going for two-in-a-row to start the season and a possible fifth title. Six time SLM champion Tom Moriarity, will be vying for the win to back up his second place finish on opening night last Saturday. Eighteen SLM’s started last week’s 100 on the 3/8-mile and that many or more are expected again this Saturday.

Roger Drake won the first three races this season in the Street Stock Division. Drake will try to make it four-in-a-row this Saturday. The previous wins were on a wet track. The forecast is for dry weather this Saturday and Drake has emphasized he prefers a dry track. Darrel Lutovsky second in points also says he prefers a dry track. Jason McQuinn third in the points chase has made it to the podium two of the three races so far this season.

In the Super/Stock Figure Eight Division rookie Lance O’Grain is in the points lead for the 2013 championship. O’Grain is driving last season’s championship car formerly driven by Jake Repin. Repin is taking the year off from racing. Ricky Dietz and Mike Steltz are tied for second only five points back of the leader.

Another driver looking to make it four-in-a-row is Jon Roberts in the Mini-Stock Division. Roberts the 2012 division champion has started his season off with a bang. Travis Woodward is in second with Devin Kessler close behind in third.

Always an extremely competitive division the Stinger 8’s point leader is Todd Stilwell, Second place heading into Saturday’s racing is Matt Somerville and one of the four women racers in this division Nicole Pollard is third.
