Three Women Scheduled To Start Genie Can-Am 125

On Saturday August 17 Evergreen Speedway ‘the biggest and fastest NASCAR short track west of the Mississippi’ will host the annual NAPA Auto Parts NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Evergreen 150 presented by Toyota and the Genie Can-AM 125 for NASCAR Whelen All American Series Super Late Models.

A record will be set when three women make the start of the Super Late Model Can-Am 125. Speedway regular 18-year old Molly Helmuth (Seattle, WA)will be joined by 18-year old Jessica Dana (Olympia, WA)who has run on Evergreen’s 5/8-mile oval in the past and for the first time at Evergreen 16-year old Hannah Newhouse (Twin Falls, ID)who is in the top five in season points on the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series. Each of the three has extensive backgrounds in many forms of racing and each aspires to move up in the NASCAR echelon of racing. With $5000 to win, a full 33+ car field for the 125-lap Super Late Model race is expected with drivers from Canada, and nationwide from as a far away as North Carolina with many already registered.

The 2013 edition of Speedweek  kicks off Monday August 12th with Media Day and complimentary ride-a-longs with the Richard Petty Driving Experience for media and sponsors. Throughout the week, the RPDE teams will be holding classes and driving schools for fans throughout the West Coast and Canada. The cars driven are real NASCAR Cup Cars. Evergreen Speedway is the only Short Track in America to host the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Entering their second year at Evergreen Speedway, fans in the Pacific Northwest would normally have to travel to tracks in Las Vegas, Daytona, Talladega or Orlando to experience the thrill at 130+ mph!  Fans who would like to participate in the Richard Petty ride-along or schools can sign up at

Friday Night August 16th, is the NAPA Auto Parts FREE Fan Fest from 5pm to 10pm. Following the NASCAR practice, fans can take pictures with the cars, get autographs and listen to great live music.

Saturday August 17th, the NASCAR Pro Series West tour makes their annual visit to Evergreen Speedway. The NAPA Auto Parts 150 presented by Toyota is a Speed Channel event which showcases drivers throughout the Country who have their sights on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The second featured event on Saturday night is the Genie Can Am 125 featuring the greatest local, regional, national and Canadian Super Late Model drivers.

The speedway has made arrangements for RV/Camping spaces at the Fairgrounds for a discount. Friday and Saturday nights stay is only $25 prepaid.

Saturday August 17 the opening ceremonies are scheduled for 5:40pm with NASCAR K&N Pro Series West driver introduction followed by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and the former lead guitarist of Heart Roger Fisher  performing the National Anthem.  Tickets and or RV/Camping reservations for this national event are available online at or by calling 360-805-6100.
